Article Discussion: Peyton Manning shows Denver Broncos that he's still pretty good
So this is how Peyton Manning won all those games with the Indianapolis Colts.
The prized quarterback showed his new team, the Broncos, that the hurry-up offense is best played with patience.
Manning brought collective organization to the no-huddle offense in the Broncos' preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Satuday night in a 30-10 loss. He played with smarts. He pla...

"So this is how Peyton Manning won all those games with the Indianapolis Colts."
LOL! WOW!
I didn't stick around to see "how Peyton Manning won all those games with the Indianapolis Colts" cause I tuned out after that first Peyton Manning Interception and listened to ACDC's Thunderstruck for the rest of the game.
Looked at the news later and saw he threw 2 I's and he and the Broncos got thrashed 30-10 up here at altitude by a bunch of sea level groveling Seahawks!
WOW!
Just WOW!
Maybe the Broncos should fine Peyton $5 million per interception! That will definitely put an end to them, and I can listen to a whole Bronco game instead of turning it off at the first interception! I really would like to watch Bronco football over listening to Thunderstruck!
Where's that other dude.........you know, the one who did all the praying? What was his number........uh..15 or something like that?

Re: Article Discussion: Peyton Manning shows Denver Broncos that
Manning will be fine. Remember, he hasn't played much in a long time so you can expect rust. I'm more concerned with BO, who clearly isn't ready to be an NFL back up. Let the kid be third string and learn slowly. The question becomes who will play if Manning goes down? Weber and Hanie best get a lot of playing time in the next two games to see who is the back up. The depth on defense is another concern. It didn't look as tight as against the Bears. I noticed some sloppy tackling later in the game and that needs to be addressed before going into the season. Del Rio should be able to correct bad tendencies before they become habits.

Broncos fans....remember how excited we all were about signing Peyton a few months ago, and how excited we were to see him play at the scrimmage a few weeks ago? Those of us who are fair weather fans can hop off the bandwagon right now, because anyone expecting perfection from the guy two preseason games into a season returning after a year off is out of their head. It's the preseason, you guys. Chill. Manning is going to be great for us. Sure, the game wasn't all that and a bag of chips. He'll get back into the swing of things before we all have a second to realize that one of the best QB's in the league is at the helm. As always, this season deserves a little bit of patience and willingness to put up with the bad. At least Josh McDaniels isn't the coach. Go Broncos

Manning gets paid $625,000 per game. If he gets the Broncos to the Super Bowl, he will have earned his salary. Anything less, the Broncos made a bad deal.

Well, looks like Manning was doing ok with his intermediate throws but when it came to throwing the deep ball it was kinda like a Tebow throw. I hope its just rust but maybe he isn't completely healthy.
By the way, Cutler looked good. just saying

Yeah, Manning will be fine - but let's get real - he's past his prime. But even if he's 80%, he'll be better than most QB's in pro-ball. There are three more P-S games to go. Better get ALOT better Broncos - or get steam-rolled during the real season. 9-7 is about as good as I can see the team getting this year. And it won't be because of Manning. It'll be because the supporting cast will be weak in vulnerable ways that the other teams will pick and punch apart. Count on it.

Peyton had good and bad - probably the same with every QB in preseason. His second interception look pretty bad - hope it was just the ball getting away from him. Thought his end zone throw was a little behind Tamme, but that doesn't show which of the two, Peyton or Tamme, were off their mark.

LOL! Sure you're right!
As soon as someone comes along and wipe out all these Tebow records from the record books, he will be that player you say he'll be!

this is what preseason is for, as hard as it is to watch. the guy was out of football for a year. he's with a new team, new players and coaches. nonetheless, even with 3 turnovers in the first half, the broncos were ahead at halftime. the fact of the matter is that the reserves got totally dominated by the seahawks bench, the same thing that we did to the bears. what does it mean? that we have no depth? probably. does that mean that the bears have even less than we do? it probably means nothing of the sort, it's a learning experience, and the coaches are the ones that learn the most. all in all, manning will get shake the rust off, no doubt, but this team won't be winning any super bowls this year.

Re: Article Discussion: Peyton Manning shows Denver Broncos that
I wouldn't waste too much time sweating over this game guys. Granted our offensive didn't look very good but that's because we are comparing it to our expectations of Manning.
The man just came back from surgery and had to take an entire year off as a result. Anybody remember how rusty Michael Jordan was when he took that year off from basketball? It took him several games to get back a groove and even then he still wasn't quite himself.
I think Manning will be fine and will definitely get better as the season progresses. The truth is if anybody needs the playing time it is definitely Manning. So the more games and series the first team plays together, the more they will all get on the same page. All that said, I think PM would have gotten better as the game progressed... especially since it takes quarterbacks a minute to figure out what the defense is doing. I think if this was a regular season game, Denver would have won... although I am concerned about our run defense which didn't look very good tonight.
In any case, I still think this team will be 10-6 for the season. I mean if we can win 8 games with the old quarterback you guys mean to honestly tell me Peyton Manning is only worth 1 more win???

Re: Article Discussion: Peyton Manning shows Denver Broncos that
There are way to many Debbie Downers here. For a guy that didnt take a "live" snap for as long as he did 16/23 is still pretty good. Cutler was 53% completion. Eli was 50%. Rodgers was 54% on Thursday. Anybody that expected PFM to come out in his second live game in 15 months and be better then how he preformed seriously doesn't know football. I expected him to have a better game then last week and I think he did, he ran the 2 minute offense pretty good, and obviously he has the football smarts.
I am still waiting for people to admit that the first hit that Peyton took, it DID NOT end his career!!!

Manning is OK. I am more concerned about the second tier players who will be called upon when the injuries occur. This may be a rebuild year yet we may still see the playoffs as a one and out.
